The LIFT-MTB system offers 2 power management solutions.<\/p>\n

The pedal sensor (optional) and a handlebar throttle (included as standard with the motor).<\/p>\n

These two solutions can be combined and allow to combine performance and comfort of use.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Although the LIFT MTB kit has a pedal sensor option, we prefer to use the handlebar throttle for electric bikes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The pedal sensor (P.A.S) is required by law to approve electric bikes at the European e-bike classification.<\/p>\n

It is therefore common knowledge<\/strong> that this is the most efficient solution, since the major manufacturersuse<\/strong> itby obligation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But just because a technological choice is imposed on us politically, it does not mean that it is technically the best solution on the ground.<\/p>\n

With this in mind and after numerous tests, we have chosen to use manual throttle<\/strong>as it is the case in all other off-road sports (motorcycle, quad etc. …) because it is simply what is the most logical, adapted, and efficient<\/strong> for off-road use with obstacles to overcome.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>


\n The handlebar throttle is very smooth and progressive,<\/b>
\n<\/span> which allows you to dose the acceleration and power you want according to your needs. <\/span> <\/p>\n

Unlike a pedal sensor, or a torque sensor where you have to pedal to be assisted, the trigger allows you to assist only when necessary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thus, when you pedal downhill, or on the flat, you are not obliged to trigger the assistance, hence a clear gain in autonomy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In spite of all the sensors that can be grafted onto a crank<\/strong>, nothing replaces the analysis of the human brain in the management of the power to be transmitted to the ground, the handlebar throttel is by far the best solution in terms of efficiency and optimization of consumption.<\/p>\n

  • You can use the throttle without pedaling<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Very energy consuming but very effective in some technical passages, you will cross<\/strong> the obstacles more easily<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • You will anticipate difficulties better<\/strong>, because you can take momentum, it is all the more effective since you are not limited in speed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • You can also walk beside your bike and accelerate very slightly so you don’t have to push it<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • No need to take your hands off the handlebars to change modes for a short stretch of riding, a simple pull of the trigger is enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    We tried different versions of the throttel :<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • The twist grip on an electric bike<\/strong> (very difficult to manage for a bike use)<\/li>\n
    • To the right thumb (can cause interaction problems with the gear shifter), etc…<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Finally, they are all unanimous after testing:<\/p>\n

      The left index finger or left thumb trigger is still the most practical, ergonomic and effective.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      In short, the handlebar throttle is progressive and very effective on the ground!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
