Pedal sensor with power regulator.

Pedal Sensor – How it works in brief

This accessory is an option that allows you to have an identical operation to that of a classic electric bike.

When the crankset turns, the crankset sensor detects this and sends power to the motor to assist the rider without having to pull the trigger.

You can adjust the power assistance of the Mountain Bikes (MTB) electric motor, from 0 to 100%, using the knob located on the stem.

The trigger on the handlebars remains active even if you don’t pedal, which allows you to accelerate without pedaling.

Our pedal bike motor kit comes standard with a handlebar trigger to manage power.
The trigger system is the most efficient in crossing and allows to reduce consumption, so we consider this pedal rotation sensor as an option, which can be added on your kit at the time of purchase or in a second time.
You can read the article that explains our choice of trigger assistance by clicking on the link below:

OFF

In the OFF position (when the button is pushed).
The regulator is disconnected, in this case only the trigger allows to manage the motor assistance.

ON

On the ON position (when the button is pulled).
The sensor detects when the pedal turns, and sends power to the motor.
The knob attached to the stem is a potentiometer that turns to adjust the power from 0% to 100% .
The trigger remains functional and has priority if needed.

The potentiometer allows to be more precise and faster than a management by different modes that we find in our competitors, the infinite range of adjustment allows to never be between two modes.

Note that the trigger always has priority. That is, if the regulator is in the ON position, with 50% power setting, you can accelerate without pedaling, or accelerate to 100% with the trigger.

In technical passages, it is advisable touse only the trigger, which will be more effective, and the regulator will generally be set to the OFF position.

Fixing of the sensor:

The sensor holder is fixed between the frame and the bottom bracket.
There is a compatible bracket for every standard bottom bracket, such as BB92, BSA, BB30 and PF30.
Below are the different dimensions of the standard bottom bracket:
PF30 : 46 mm
BB92 / BB30: 41 / 42 mm
BSA: 35 mm

Connection:

The connection is simple, on the harness you have to connect two plugs in standby for the connection, so it is easily adaptable without modification even if your kit is not equipped with original.

The controller is compatible with all LIFT-MTB electric bicycle assist models from 2013 onwards.
